After the Extraction

Gosh, I haven’t posted here in a while huh? lol.

Okay, so I just want to say that this could get lengthy but I’ll try to keep it short.

Jan 4 – Two days before Extraction :

I noticed that the daily pains in my mouth had all but ceased. O.o I was baffled by this, and continued to take the antibiotic and ibuprofen that the dentist had prescribed me.

Jan 5 – One day before Extraction :

Today was the second day without mouth pains. I had been doing everything just as I had before, over the last two weeks- I brushed, rinsed, and flossed; I took the meds, and I chewed gum. (Orbit is the bomb!)

Jan 6 – The day of the Extraction :

Today I felt a surge in my anxiety. I knew that I only had to work from 4-9, and then I would go home and prep myself for the surgery. Even still, I couldn’t shake the feeling of just being afraid of it all. Hey, those of you who know me know that I’m a sissy for anytime I have to see a doctor of any kind! :S Also, hospitals creep me out…as do graveyards…but optometrist and veterinarians don’t at all. :P

As I worked, I noticed this was the third day without mouth pain. If my teeth were deteriorating, then why did my pain suddenly stop? Whatever, I thought, at least I was feeling ok with it.

At 9 sharp, I said goodbye to my partner in Electronics, William B., and then clocked out. I met Dara outside and she was happy to see me. I could tell she was a little nervous–mainly just worried for me. ^_^

At home, I got everything together. I was hungry but, wasn’t aloud to eat 4 hrs til my operation. :/ I drank water and got dressed. In a red Target bag (the reusable cloth kind), I placed Dara’s portable DVD player, some DVD’s and a small bag with bread items and a banana for Papa. Dara had to work, so her dad would be taking me there, waiting in the lobby, and then bringing me back. …seems he did a good job. :)

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of this but, the drug I took before going is called “Halcion”. This drug is used to treat patients with Insomnia. haha. When used with a non-insomniac, awake person, this drug produces a sleep-like state, in which the patient is still mostly awake, and yet hasn’t much bodily control. Also, the drug effects the memory, often leaving the patient without any for the events following taking the drug. :/ Creepy huh?

I was to take one 0.25 mg pill in 30 min increments prior to my appointment. (so 90, 60, and 30 mins prior). Since the dentist’s office had called me on the way home, asking me to come in earlier (10:45 now, instead of 11:30), I had to start taking the pills immediately after getting home.

After the first pill I felt my head getting a little fuzzy and my hearing lessened.

After the second pill I felt a semi-drunken-like state and don’t remember much after that save for my alarm going off to take the third pill.

After the third pill, I was ready to leave. I drank some water, handed the directions I printed out to Papa, and then….  ……. ?  ………………..??

:O That’s right! I honestly remember NOTHING at all after that!

What memories I do have are only in small moments, and could even be memories from the past and NOT from today (as I had visited the dentist’s office before…so it’s hard to tell when I made these memories).

………..I remember signing in at the receptionist’s desk.

………..I remember sitting down next to Papa, who was already reading a mag.

………..I remember the door opening and someone asked me to come in.

……………………………………………….???

Next thing I remember was laying in bed and Dara telling me she would make me some rice soup. mmmm….and then I remember eating some soup, though it was difficult. I told Dara I felting like puking, and after she ran to get a bucket, I did so (though just a tiny bit) into the bucket.

After that I went back to sleep.

Jan 7 – The day after the Extraction :

I woke once this morning to see Dara putting make-up on in the mirror.

I woke again to her kissing me goodbye–her beautiful face full of concern. I can only imagine how powerless she must feel to see her most precious person in such a state.

……..

Later I awoke into the darkness and chill of my room. My mouth was very dry and I found it amusing to rub my semi-numb fingers across my dry tongue which felt like a dog’s foot pad. :o

I lay there for a few minutes, knowing I wasn’t going back to sleep, and pondering what I should do next. Turning on the light and finding the time seemed like a great idea. :)

8am was earlier than I expected. So, I didn’t sleep a full day away, I thought.

As I used the toilet, it wasn’t long before the bleeding in my mouth begun. I rinsed with some warm water and then put in some gauze. The gauze feels good but, makes my sensitive throat want to puke–it’s always been like that.

Now I’m here alone, just me and my computer. My nephew-in-law is afraid of me, I can tell after attempting to speak to him–my deep raspy voice crawling out. He just stood outside the cracked door with his eyes peering through. I went outside to the kitchen and we rolled a Luigi pull-back bike back and forth for a few minutes until Mama came in and told me to rest some more.

For the past hour I’ve been listening to 2NE1, MONKEY MAJIK, and TaeYang while blogging and facebooking.

At this point, I’m not sure what to do. I read the advice paper left by the dentist, but all I can think about is how hungry I am. :/ I want to eat a banana…so we’ll see how that works. haha

PS. My 26th Bday is on the 9th. :/ Happy Birthday to me?

Happy Birthday Mikerz

Hello ev’one!

Today was a HUGE day for Dara and I in many ways. <3

Aug 14th is our yearly anniversary. This year marked five long and beautiful years together. ^___^ Although we’ve been apart for most of them. T_T

I couldn’t sleep and woke up at 7am. Around 8am I was able to finally get outta bed but, I was only able to crawl across the floor and grab hold of my PSP. I played Patapon 2 for an hour till Dara finally woke up.

We cooked Lil’ Turkey Smokies for breakfast, with me sticking some of them inside biscuits and baking them. (Delicious!)

After that we went out shopping for some random things, including catching a “buy one get one 1/2 off” shoe sale at Payless. I got some new black shoes for both work and after, while Dara picked up some lovely silver heels for only 11$!

I was quite panicky this morning, repeatedly texting my new co-worker friend Dez. Since I wanted to pick up some super special gifts WITHOUT Dara knowing, I surely couldn’t ask her to drive me there. :P haha. so Dez had agreed to taxi me around outta the goodness of her heart. (Thanks again!!)

So what’s this all about? Well, around 2pm I left our house in Dez’s car…. Shortly after picking up my super special gifts, one of which was difficult to find, I called Dara and asked her to look for a letter under the laptop.

There was a white envelope labeled with pink marker: “Dara”. Inside was paper that read “CLUE one:” and had a short poem pointing to where the second envelope was hidden– behind the mirror. The third clue was hidden under the driver’s seat of Dara’s car. That note told her to meet me at a very personal place. This place, was the exact spot in the airport where Dara and I first met over four years ago.

I arrived at the airport, planning to reach our place first. Ironically, I repeated the same errors I had made being lost in 2006, in that I had Dez drop me off at the North Terminal, when our place is in the South Terminal. XD

After nearly 40 mins and several phone calls to Dara, who had already found and was impatient waiting at our place, I was finally able to remember find it!

On my back was my backpack; inside of which was gifts in gift wrapping and bags. In my left arm was a beautiful bouquet of pink+red Tiger Lillies. In my right arm was a large white box.

We hugged, and I handed Dara the flowers. I asked her to sit down so I could read to her the poem. (I write Dara a new poem each month to celebrate our DarTy 14th’s.) I also said: “Please, close your eyes babe.”

I sat and waited while he read me the poem (this was a big deal since I hardly ever hear him recite his own poetry to me). It was so romantic and heartfelt. I never felt my heart beating so fast in my life! After he was done reading the poem, I felt so happy, I couldn’t stop smiling. It was unbelievable how beautiful the words were and how much love there was.

After that, he told me to open my eyes (he was down on his knees by the way!) and from there he held open a box. Inside was a lovely round white cake, decorated with a pink border and chocolate letters that said “DarTy Eien”. I stared at it with awe and told him how much I loved the cake. He smiled and said something I never thought he would say. Something I’ve been wanting to hear for so long. He said…

I placed the cake to the side and grabbing her right hand, held it in both of my own. I spoke words to here in the heart of such a wonderful moment, that now neither of us can remember any of them before: “Dara Sananikone, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?”

We then shared stories about our days and drove to a nearby park so Dara could open her gifts: A portable DVD player with The Little Mermaid DVD, A pink Wii remote with Wiiplus, a Wii game named De Blob, a box of Lifesavers gummies candy, a box of Mike & Ike Berry candies, and two jokes gifts (a pink-handled pizza cutter and a pink reusable Scotch tape dispenser). I also took pics and a short video to share with you all later! =D

To wrap this long story up (b/c it’s time for cake, drinks, and movies!!):

  • We returned home and shared the great news with Dara’s family.
  • We rented a room in the same hotel we lived in together for two weeks back when we first met in April 2006.
  • We ate a VERY awesome and SUPER DUPER FRAPPIN delicious dinner at ORSO.

And now we are here! =D Ok gtg. Love you all!

PS. HOTERU INTERNETO! lol hahahahaha

Happy DarTy Anni.5 !!!!!

Yesterday I surprised Dara with two gifts hidden under a pile of 14 pink balloons, with cute sayings on each one. The gifts were Kashi granola bars and cookies! =D

Last night we watched (500) Days of Summer, All About Steve, and drank Crown + Cherry Pepsi! /

Cooking eggs, tiny sausages, plus putting those into biscuits (pigs in blankets) for breakfast!

Going to Anniversary Dinner at ORSO tonight at 730, but first, Dara has to find and follow three notes to meet me at a secret place where I’ll be waiting for her with an important gift. <3

It’s hard to shake the feeling of failure, loneliness, and worthlessness after losing your first real job since college. Sadly to say, the bills don’t care and won’t stop coming. I made this mess so I could drown in my own spilled milk.

So lately, things have been going well enough.

I’ve been working M-F 5am – 130pm in Providence hospital’s basement Records section. Us Westaff temps have been assigned to the grand project of auditing old patient record files for destruction. (Sadly, we do not get to do any destroying ourselves…). Can’t say the job is too difficult, but getting those 7 or 8 boxes done a day sure is. Also, the job is hard as the wrists.

Picked up and cashed my first week’s paycheck ystdy (Weekly pay is nice). We celebrated by… PAYING BILLS! Yay! I kissed the whole check goodbye in a matter of minutes. *sigh* And I have more bills to pay with next Friday’s check. :/

At the champagne was good. ^_^

Date Day

That’s right! Dara and I are going on an official date today! ^_^

And also, Chuck-E-Cheese’s for the little Junsei’s 1st year birthday! yeah ya!

I think the title pretty much says it all. =P

I meant to post this during the week but, as you may know, I wasn’t feeling so well.

On Friday night, we all (Dara, her Sis, Bro, and Wife) went to the Bear Tooth and watched the 10:10 showing of Evangelion 1.0. It was an interesting anime, though I wasn’t must into it. The movie prior had run over (that or the cleaning crew did) and we ending up waiting nearly 30 mins just to get inside the viewing room. So long that Spencer’s ice cream melted and dripped over the sides of his plate onto the floor. He called an emergency “eat the shit before it all melts” action and passed out the spoons. I thought it tasted crappy for such expensive ice cream.

On Saturday Dara had to work, so I went with Spence, his wife (Amane) and kids to a mountain spot known as “Flat-Top”. We actually went to the mall and ran some errands, and then at the last minute before returning home, Spence was like “hey, who wants to go the mountain?” And so we did.

The higher we drove up the winding mountain road, the more snow there was. At the top, we parked in the parking lot and walked the 1/4 mile trail up to one of the look-out points. It was nice! My FIRST TIME seeing snow in OVER 5 YEARS. So of course…I WENT NUTS!! I ran around crazily with the oldest boy (Shosei, 3) tossing snow around and building snow people. We even took pics. =D

Before leaving, I dared Spencer to jump down a small yet steep hill with me. We had a blast doing so and were covered in a ton of snow and cold afterwards! XD I built a small snow-head and placed him on the windshield wipers. He made it ALL the way down the mountain road but then flew off once the car hit 50 mph. hahaha!

On Sunday morning, Dara and I went Ice Skating at the Dimond Mall. What fun! This was only my second time skating in my entire life, and my first time since doing so here back in 2006. After nearly two hours of that I was tired and had sore feet. XD

Later we mixed up some choco-chip cookies (the box kind), and DIDN’T burn them! =D Yum! We drank this brand of bear made here in Juneau called “Alaskan”. Yeah! It’s the Alaskan beer! haha! I’ll get a pic of that if you’d like. Then we played some Soul Calibur III on PS2 for a while. Dara and I are such button-mashers! :P

On Monday(?) we got a call from my old friend and Winter Park roommate- Cece! :o OMG! Her and I talked for a while and it was nice. ^_^ I miss that crayz girl!

I rented Midnight Club: Los Angeles for 360. Sadly, I only got to play it for one day (though admittedly for almost 4 hours!) out of the five days I rented it. I gotta say, eventhough I didn’t much like the more realistic handling at first, it really grew on me; after an hour I was driving and winning like a champ! B-D  This game is definitely a buyer! (Hop on my Amazon.com WishList if you’re feeling charitable! *wink* )

Today I watched the first two eps. of The Office… eh um… I don’t get it. haha. It’s just like Dara said! She bet me I wouldn’t like it and, I don’t.

Ok, that’s enough randomness for know. Catch ya all later! And maybe I’ll update my Travel Log again soon. Seems like “daily” is too much to ask for! Oh well. :P

first new job… not so great

Long story short… will be in outline mode:

  • Was in the mall one day and saw a job opportunity sign, so I went it.
  • Fill out an application online at home later and was called for an interview on Monday.
  • Went in Monday and found out that Westaff isn’t really a place to work persay, but a placement center.
  • Was placed into a simple 5-day job delivering garbage and recycling carts (bins) around the city.
  • Showed up to work at 6:45am Tues.
  • Job entailed me, with one teammate, hopping on and off the back of a 26 foot U-Haul truck, dropping off recycling carts.
  • Job took too damn long, going into overtime all the way past 11pm that night.
  • When I got home I was: heavily fatigued, dehydrated, hungry, dizzy, nauseous, and overall weak feeling.
  • The later resulted in my violent purging of one Taco Bell cheese roll-up and half a taco.
  • Had to call into work and cancel. Won’t be doing this kind of job again.
  • I felt like shit for two days and weak for another day (that was yesterday).
  • Have to contact they guy to get paid 12/hr (hopefully plus time-and-a-half overtime).

toilet seats are always cold in Alaska

Haha. Ok, let me explain.

<rant>

So we all live in a trailer that runs mostly using gas power. We have a gas stove and gas heating. Luckily, we have central heating (with grates on the floor that blow hot air out in every room).

Now, I don’t need to state how obviously cold it gets up here. So, having a strong heating system, that will most likely be running ALL Winter long, is a MUST-HAVE for Alaskans.

The temperatures outside are upper 40′s for highs, and around lower 30′s for lows (maybe lower). However, this house is ALWAYS warm, if not HOT. Not to say that I’m sensitive to heat, I mean, I just came from Florida!

No, I don’t have a problem with it being so warm that I don’t even have to use a blanket at night (though I do prefer to have a blanket or a sheet over me for comfort). No no, my problem is when it’s SO hot that I’m actually sweating. SWEATING MAN! It’s midnight, and hear I am in my bed sweating my fat white ass off! >.<

My girl Dara, skinny little thing, seems to usually be cold, so she has no problem at all sleeping in a hot house under the think comforter we have on top the bed. She’s always wanting me to come under the blanket and snuggle with her as we both fall asleep but, I just CAN’T- it’s TOO DAMN HOT! @_@

Moving to Alaska, I knew I’d have to learn to cope with the freezing cold sometimes below Zero weather- with all the SNOW. I was prepared for THAT. But, you know… I wasn’t prepared for the super heater that makes me all sweaty and uncomfortable at night. *sigh*

</rant>

Now about toilet seats. So even with the house being hot- even with the bathroom being hot- the toilet seat is still cold. Wow.
